Been on a bit of a hiatus.  If you come here just for poker you can skip this post because I really haven't played since Vegas.  Actually, here's a couple of paragraphs since this IS a poker blog: Poker Items... Did get in two weekly tournaments at Harrahs and bubbled one.  Trishelle of Real World fame played the other and took second.  We shared the same starting table.  She played pretty decent and I think stole a couple of pots from me in position. With the other weak spots at the table I wasn't really in the mood to test her with some check-raises or play back given it was the early levels.   Boards were dry and it felt like she was thieving.  If she keeps showing up to my "honey hole" and her steals becomes a habit I'll be happy to play back at her in the future. Turns out the IP isn't taking the 3% juice out of the initial tournament fee so the increase isn't quite as bad as I thought it was.  I plan on trying to get there to satelli...

Bits and Bites Update

-Good luck to Amarillo Slim.  Caveat:  If the man isn't a pedophile as he was charged with late in his life. -Looks like I may go to all or part of Chester.  Don't know if I will be backed or not but there are only 1000 players within 7 points of me on the WSOP-C top 66 list.  We'll see what happens.  If anybody is interested in $200 shares let me know.  I may be selling another package... if my backer doesn't come through.  I may just play all on my own.  I don't know yet.  So, I'm not collecting or officially selling just yet but email me your interest. -Just did a non-strategy poker blog post that I will link to once it is up.  Fairly good I think. -Min Cashed the Donkley on Wednesday.  I got in with AA vs. 1010 and somebody inevitably said they folded a ten.  The last one showed up on the turn.  Can't complain.  Earlier in the day I was short and shipped it when Kenny Milam limped under the gun and the rest ...

Donkley Chopzilla, Dead Money Winnah, and more...

Lots of little tidbits: **Congrats to all the folks I know and like, the few I know and love, and the many I know and hate, that cashed at the Beau so far.  I don't really hate anybody so that last category isn't really true but it sort of just rolled off the tongue and onto my keyboard.  Because, if I did hate them likely they wouldn't win anything as the power of my hate is so strong it's like a voodoo curse of lifelong bubbles.  Just ask CarrotTop, I started hating him 10 years ago. **Just wrapped up the Dead Money Poker Tournament, and I'm excited that our winner was Ryan Howard from Cleveland.  He'll be a great representative for all that played and is a quality guy.  Had a lot of fun with him and his buddies following the tournament--so much so, that I am already excited about next years weekend. He's got a great shot to go deep, with the perfect demeanor and disposition to survive the grueling test of the World Series Main Event. ...

Back From Disney World

Image
Did it seemed like I just upped and disappeared?  Well, I did.  At a very late moment we made a family decision to go to Disney World.  Found a cheap trip through the mouse and instead of waiting a year or two for another time, made the most of the last week of my wife's maternity leave.  Sorry, I left this blog dangling in the wind (so too GCP) but despite my intentions to update things during my two year old's naps I discovered two year olds don't take naps at Disney World. But I'm back...  Surprised by the number of hits I've gotten in my absence so I must reward those of you who have been checking in. Anyway, with my memory a little less clear let's get back to the 1k.  They move to a table with Chris Tyrba , (who's on fire this year), bracelet winner Captain Tom Franklin and on my left maybe the best women's player ever, bracelet winner  Kathy Liebert .  I love her outspokenness on twitter and I respect her chip on the shoulder ...
